Saturday 15th May 2021 [please note that this is subject to change - see below]

It is with great regret that we must inform the Half Marathon November 2020 entrants that we have decided to postpone to the new event date of Saturday 15th May 2021.

This has been a difficult decision for us to take as we are sure you will all be disappointed with this outcome. We have spent many weeks planning to make this a Covid secure event, but the deteriorating situation with a steep rise in new infections has highlighted two major areas of concern for the event: the coach transport to the start and having to manage the start area itself on a public trail remote from the race HQ. Therefore, we feel it is in the best interests of you as runners and for the many volunteers required to safely stage the race, to postpone the event until next year when hopefully this awful virus will be beaten.

All November 2020 entries have been automatically deferred to the May 2021 event date.

If the new date in 2021 is not suitable we are offering a refund to all Half Marathon entrants.

We do hope you understand the reasons that have caused this further postponement. We could possibly have waited until nearer the race date to make a final decision but with a rise in new confirmed cases in Derbyshire, we believe this is the correct decision for all of us in remaining vigilant against this virus.

Best regards,

Kathryn Berrisford (Race Director)
