Report from Sarah Walton on Carsington 7+ on Sunday -A couple of MACs made the short journey to run the Carsington 7+ in sunny but breezy conditions on Sunday 20th September. The course was a clockwise 7.5 mile loop of the slightly undulating but familiar track around the reservoir, starting close to the visitor centre.Impressive Covid-19 safety measures included race numbers being posted out to competitors in advance accompanied by tailored suggested arrival / toilet times and call / start times. The start was socially distanced and staggered with runners set off in 2 metre socially distanced groups at 30 second intervals. Floor markers leading up to the start ensured 2 metre distancing and no congestion. Using competitors predicted pace the quicker runners were started first to reduce overtaking. Chip timers on race numbers ensured nobody was disadvantaged by the start arrangements. The winner was Daniel Bagley in 41:06, first lady Kelly Butler 46:12. Tom Woodhouse was the first MAC back in 57:22, 13th MV40 and 107th overall. Sarah Walton 1:13:44, 8th FV50 and 293rd overall. 426 runners
