Sunday it was Peak Raid 3, Round 4 taking place from the Village Hall at Calver. The orienteering event requires navigation skills with a choice of 16 checkpoints to visit in any order to gain as many points as you can in 3 hours, losing points if you go over time. The course took in the Eastern Moors visiting Big Moor, White Edge, Ramsey Moor and Birchens with varied terrain taking in heather, deep marsh and tussocks but with some good running on paths and tracks too, including Frogatt Edge. The weather was wet and windy but visibility was good.
For MAC in the Pairs category - Molly Gorman partnered with Joanna Krol visiting 9 Controls but losing all their points as they were over the 3 hour time limit putting them in 16th place. Jenny Reid and Michaela Dick 13th (5 Controls). Nicky Dick and Christine Howard FV50 category 7th place (7 Controls). In the Mixed category Andy Hall and Jan Forrester 19th (6 Controls). In the Solo category Marcin Zaleski 3rd (15 Controls) and Les Thurston 14th (4 Controls).Full results and Series Results -
