Derbyshire County XC Championships 2020

Saturday 4th January saw The Derbyshire X Country Championship take place at Shipley Pk, Heanor.
They U11 Boys had a 1500m course to run - Logan Fairey had a great run finishing 5th and Andrew Slater putting ina good run to finish 10th. The U13 Girls tackled 3000m and Ellen Corke had a good race to finish 14th.
The U13 Boys did a 3000m course with all 3 boys storming the course Will Croft finished in a fine 3rd place taking Bronze, Jacob Jones 5th and Charlie Ross 8th mean they took Team Silver.
The U15 Girls had a 4000m course with Amelia Corke 16th and Poppy Lynn 17th both had good runs.
The U15 Boys did 4500m with Bertie Elphick having a quality run finishing 4th and Sam Sargeant 17th.
The U 17 men did a 6000m course with James Briggs finishing 16th and Oli Lloyd 20th.
The U17/U20 Women did 5000m with Elsbeth Grant having an amazing run to finish 1st and Lizzy Webster running well too finishing 6th and 3rd U17.
The Senior/Vet Women ran 8000m with Shelley Fairey heading the Mac ladies taking 4th place and 3rd Senior lady, Hayley Gill 7th and a Silver V35 Medal, Alison Pye 22nd, Lottie Riddle 25th, Carly Spear 29th, Lisa Jones 35th, Jan Forrester 40th and Gold V65, The Vet Women of Hayley, Alison, Carly and Jan also got Team Silver.
Finally the Sen/Vet/U20 Men did 10000m course. Tearing around the course and taking The Derbyshire Championship was Dan Haworth 1st, Billy Cartwright taking the final podium position in 3rd place, Harry Holmes 5th, Colin Davenport 19th and Bronze V35, John Thorpe 20th, Paddy Wright 25th, Birtie West 28th, Oliver Brocklehurst 39th, Karl Webster 41st, Bob Foreman 47th, Mick Moorhouse 51st and Gold M65, Simon Croft 52nd, John Hurley 59th, Nick Gant 64th, Denney Lau 67th and Les Thurston 80th.
The Vet Men of Colin, John, Paddy and Karl took Team Gold and Bob, Mick, Simon and John Hurley claimed Vet team Bronze.
Many thanks to all 37 Macs who represented Mac showing the club's strength in depth!!
