Wincle Trout Fell Race (9.5k/320m) took place on Saturday. This very popular run is part of the Wincle Village Fete with beer tent, activities and crafts.
The fell race is so popular it fills up very quickly and the entrants receive a brown trout as a prize. The weather was glorious for this lovely family event. This year there was a slight variation to the course taking in Lud’s Church (a big tourist attraction in Victorian times, which still gets many visitors) and along the ridge.
MAC Mick Moorhouse, who does this race every year, 59.17. 310 runners. The winner was Peter Bray, Chorlton Runners 39.23 and 1st lady Olivia Walwyn, Macclesfield Harriers 48.37.
