Jim Thorneycroft reports -
It was Monsal Head Half Marathon day 2 on Sunday. A slightly windy day for running and it was Hayley Gill who led the MAC charge up the trail to Millers Dale and back. A storming run saw her break the 1-30 barrier for the first time, finishing in 17th position and 1st lady in 1-29-39.
A fine pair of runs in matching times of 1-55-02 saw Lisa Jones, in her first ever half marathon, cross the line with the ever encouraging Rachel Lane in 132 and 133rd positions. Despite a lack of long training miles Johanna Lloyd breezed comfortably over the finishing under 2 hours in 1-59-17 for 163rd position.
Only one MAC male out for this one, but he managed to double the MAC trophy haul as Jim Thorneycroft ffinished in 1-34-45 for 26th place and 1st MV60.
The winner was Paul Sadler, Haldon Trail Runners in 1.17.03. 377 runners
