Les Thurston likes the tough races -
“Down in Devon for the Grizzly, organised by Axe Valley Runners at Seaton.
19 miles with about 3100 feet of climb. A tough course of road, track, path, streams, bogs, beach and cliffs.
In 2018 we ran a shortened race when the Beast From The East delivered a blizzard. This year the Pest From The West blew in with 50 mph winds which made it hard work in some places but it was mostly sunny which made for a nice day out.
I did 4:17:39 for 972nd place of 1589 finishers.
Winners were -
Ceri Rees (Wild Running). 2:19:37
Mary Menon (Ilfracombe RC). 2:33:15”
