Over in sunny Ibiza Nicky Dick represented GBR and took on avery challenging Cross Duathlon; running on rocky trails and cycling on
mountainous terrain to complete the 3 lap run, 3 lap bike and 2 final run laps
in the ETU European Cross Duathlon Championships 2018. This was part of the Multisports competition
over 5 days including Aquathlon, Sprint and Standard Duathlons, Long Distance
Triathlon and Aquabike as well as the Cross Duathlon and Elite and para-athlete
races for athletes from all over Europe.
Nicky completed in the AG55-59 Ladies Category. The bike transition area was on the beach
making for a challenging changeover from run to bike and then back from bike to run.
Not content with one event in Ibiza, Nicky also took part in the Aquathlon! (AG55-59) A non-wetsuit swim after being taken out to sea by boat and then having to swim 1k back! Then a 2 x 2.5k lap run.
The winner was Helen Przezwanski (GBR) in 40.45, Nicky was 7th in 46.58.
Then to top it all, Nicky took on the Cross Triathlon with abeautiful sea swim followed by a challenging, technical bike section on rocky
terrain and a undulating cliff run to follow.
This time she took Gold again.
What a week!
