Peter Wilmot took on the Wilmot Wander Sunday and why wouldn't he!
"I travelled over to Derby for the Wilmot Wander, a Long Distance Walkers' Association annual low key event where they are also encourage runners to take part. It only cost £12 to enter!

It is a mainly off road 32 mile route round the outskirts of Derby. The route takes in woodland parkland paths, hilly fields and canal towpaths. Conditions were very heavy, at times I felt like I was wearing lead boots as my shoes seem to pick up a bit of every field I ran through.

The route requires you to navigate as there is no ‘way markers’ or Marshalls and it isn’t easy as there is plenty of opportunities for you to wrong. Eventually I tagged along with the Rolls Royce Harriers team who knew the route and they very kindly dragged me round from about halfway. Anyway I completed it in 5 hours and 19 minutes."

Andy Hall also had a good run
