On Sunday it was the 33rd Tigger Tor Fell Race (15.5k/514m) starting at Totley RUFC. A tough race but taking place in unusually good conditions as it is normally icy, cold and bleak. Most of the route is within a Site of Special Scientific Interest and takes in Higger Tor, Carl Wark and Houndkirk Hill. This year’s winner was Lee Kemp in 1.12.48. MACs Billy Cartwright had a fantastic run to finish 2nd in 1.13.023, with brother, Ben, 4th in 1.14.00 and Rich Bradbury was 20th in 1.20.30 enough to take the Team Prize. A great achievement to finish ahead of the likes of ‘proper’ fell running clubs such as Dark Peak FR. 1st lady was Hannah Jarvis of Mynydd Du in 1.27.18. Other MAC results – Rupert Holden 1.36.20, Nick Harrison 1.46.44, Mick Moorhouse 1.46.58, Mark Chimley 1.47.31 and Mark Jackson 2.06.30. There were 324 finishers.
